Assignment 8A: Solving The Problem
The Kayak Party Pack
One of the biggest problems people have with a typical kayak is the lack of room on board. Whether you are using the kayak to go fishing or just having a day out on the water, there is always a need for more room. This lead me to come up with the Kayak Party Pack. Basically this is like a smaller kayak that you clip on to your main kayak and tail behind you as you paddle. The Kayak Party Pack is equipped with a live well that can turn into a cooler, extra dry storage, waterproof speakers, rod holders, and paddle clips. The pack is versatile enough so that it covers a broad customer base and has everything necessary for your time out on the water. If you are using the kayak for fishing, the live well, rod holders, and dry storage will be very useful. If you are using the party pack for a cruise, the cooler and extra storage will help keep your phone and other belongings dry. Overall, I think a lot of different people would be interested in this product due to the limited amount of space on all forms of human powered boats.
Fun name! This sounds like a good pitch. Pretty smart idea that takes care of the problem of having too much weight. It's such a simple solution and yet it never crossed my mind when I read your 7A post. You could design them to resemble like fish or dolphins, so it looks like it's swimming after you. Nice summary of your potential product.
ReplyDeleteHi Daniel, thank you for your post. Even though I am not someone that is familiar with kayaking, I can imagine how space would be a problem. I think that your Kayak Party Pack idea is great because it is versatile and can be used for types of boats other than kayaks. Having this diverse customer base would allow for increased sales. Being able to identify this aspect of a business opportunity is a great entrepreneurial skill to have.
