Assignment 18A: Create a Customer Avatar
What kind of hobbies does your customer have? Most of the hobbies that my avatar has include things that are outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, surfing and other water sports.
What kind of car do they tend to drive? (What color is it?) They would probably drive a larger car such as a jeep or Toyota FJ cruiser so that they're able to strap the kayaks to the roof. The colors would range but they would probably be lighter colors such as white, blue, or yellow.
What TV shows do they watch? They watch survivor shows and other outdoor tv shows.
Do they have children? Are any of them adopted? They may or may not have children depending on the age. Typically if they had children, they wouldn't be able to get out on the water kayaking with them until they were a little bit older.
How old are they? How old do they feel? They range from about 16-60. The age group for kayakers is so large because of how easy it is to do and the serenity you get from being on the water. Typically I think older kayakers feel younger than they are because they stay active.
I have a few things in common with the avatar such as the activities I enjoy. Since I grew up living really close to the water I always enjoyed different water sports, snorkeling, free diving, and going on boats/ kayaks. I've always been outside doing something and have never really liked playing video games or sitting at home. I think that this ultimately is what led me to my product so I don't think it is much of a coincidence that I have a lot in common with the avatar because this is a product I would buy if it were out on the market.

ReplyDeleteThis was a very good idea for you to know who your prototypical customer is what they do and what they like to do. This gives you an idea of what you need to change if anything and continue to have a prosperous business.
Hi Daniel, thank you for your post. While I personally do not relate to the avatar you created, I certainly know many people that would fit into the description you have given. I think that it is good that you have some insight into the world of kayaking because it means that you know the exact kind of people that you are targeting, which is what your avatar represents.
